Asha Nambiar joined Office of Disability Services at Princeton University in 2017. In her current role as director of disability services Asha primarily engages in the process of determining eligibility of students for accommodations through review of documentation, consultation with administrators and professionals, and intake interviews with students. She also collaborates with colleagues in the Office of the Dean of the College, Counseling and Psychological Services and University Health Services and serves as a resource for other campus constituents relating to disability and accessibility. Before Princeton, Asha served as the assistant director of disability services at Columbia University in New York City. She has also worked in disability services at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, and since 2009, has worked as a part-time lecturer at the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University, New Jersey. Asha has earned a MEd in Special Education (Edinboro University, Erie, Pennsylvania), MSW (Mahatma Gandhi University in India) and is currently working on completing her Doctoral Program at Rutgers University, New Jersey. In her spare time, Asha continues to enjoy training in Indian classical dance, cooking for family and friends and going on long walks.
