Iheanyi Onwuegbucha is a curator of modern and contemporary African art and a doctoral candidate in the Department of Art and Archeology at Princeton University. Before coming to Princeton, he was the Artistic Director of the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos. He was also the guest curator for the inaugural exhibitions of the Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos, and consulting art curator for the J.K. Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, Lagos. He was a 2016 Chevening Scholar at the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies, University of Leeds, earning a master’s in art Gallery and Museum Studies. He also holds a master’s in art history from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
As a University Administrative Fellow with the Office of the Vice Provost for International Affairs and Operations Office, he is assisting with various projects related to the Mpala Research Centre.
